SHEM Free Online Mentorship

This is a collaborative, development-focused partnership in which we use our experience to guide organizations, research groups, professors, and social movements in policy analysis, research, and teaching —building skills and capacity to achieve their defined goals.

The process

Collaborate with SHEM experts and tap into SHEM resources.

Develop targeted action plans for climate and equity impact.

Identify opportunities to strengthen your agenda with SHEM principles.

Assess the health equity and sustainability dimensions of your work.

What can the mentorship support?

The service offers direct access to SHEM experts and an expanding body of research, evidence, databases, indicators, and the Global Health Equity Atlas, along with policy guidance and methodological expertise. It is designed to support initiatives in understanding existing inequalities, assessing potential health and equity impacts, identifying opportunities for improvement, and developing practical, actionable recommendations.

How does it work?

What do you need?

The organization or initiative submits a brief description of its objectives, context, available evidence, and specific question or challenge.

What do we have?

You’re part of the process. We keep communication open and decisions shared—no black boxes or surprises.

Are we meeting?

Depending on the request, the process may include one or more online meetings with SHEM experts, and referrals to specialists or network members if needed.

It's your call

The service offers mentorship and technical support, with all final decisions and responsibilities remaining with the requesting organization or institution.

  • Sustainable development is development that meets the needs of the present without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their own needs.

    Gro Harlem Brundtland, 1987

  • Of all the forms of inequality, injustice in health is the most shocking and the most inhuman because it often results in physical death."

Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. , 1966
